Brunch · never sponsored

Saturday and Sunday, done right.

Pearl market energy, Alamo Heights classics, downtown River Walk, resort brunches, and the patios worth the wait — by neighborhood, so you can pick the one closest to where you woke up.

Act I · Pearl District

Pearl brunch — the best in SA.

The Saturday farmers market is the whole move. Everything else here is what to eat once you've shopped it.

Southerleigh

4.5★ · 4.2K

◉ WTGSA Approved

Best sit-down Pearl brunch. Southern comfort, house beer, great patio. Expect a line on weekends.

Pearl

Boiler House

4.3★ · 2.4K

Industrial atmosphere, strong brunch menu, one of the more popular weekend spots in the Pearl complex.

Pearl

Pearl Farmers Market

The move. Saturday 9am–1pm. Shop it, eat standing up, get your coffee. Arrive before 10am — vendors sell out.

Pearl

Bottling Department Food Hall

Fast casual, mixed vendors, Pearl market energy without a table-service commitment. Good if the group can't agree.

Pearl

The perfect Pearl Saturday

Farmers market at 9am → coffee at Local Coffee → Southerleigh for brunch at 11am → walk Museum Reach after.

Act II · Alamo Heights

Alamo Heights brunch.

Two sisters and the neighborhood breakfast I already send people to — plus the casual Mexican fallback.

Cappy's Restaurant

4.7★ · 2.1K

Upscale brunch, covered patio, strong Bloody Marys. More relaxed than its sister Cappyccino's.

Alamo Heights

Cappyccino's

4.7★ · 430

◉ WTGSA Approved

Best sit-down brunch in Alamo Heights. Sister spot to Cappy's. Weekend lines are real — go before 10am or after noon.

Alamo Heights

Olmos Porch

4.5★ · 2.3K

◉ WTGSA Approved

My breakfast pick in Alamo Heights. Migas, eggs, and coffee worth leaving the hotel for. Weekend lines — before 9am or after 10:30am.

Alamo Heights

Act III · Downtown

Downtown and River Walk brunch.

Fewer picks here on purpose — this is where I'd send you for a walk-up morning, not a reservation.

Boudro's

Weekend brunch right on the River Walk. The tableside guacamole is worth ordering even at brunch.

River Walk

Alamo Biscuit Company

Hearty River Walk breakfast/brunch. Good fuel before the Alamo or a River Walk morning walk.

Downtown / River Walk

Mi Tierra

Market Square institution, open from 8am. Pan dulce and coffee at the counter is a real SA brunch tradition.

Market Square

Act IV · Southtown

Southtown brunch.

Southern comfort in a Victorian, margaritas-with-brunch energy, and the taco stand locals actually use.

Rosario's

Big, festive brunch energy — margaritas at brunch is very much the Southtown vibe. Rooftop Lounge is 25+ with its own entrance; the main room downstairs is all ages.

Southtown

The Haven Southtown

◉ WTGSA Approved

Neighborhood breakfast tacos — the old Taco Haven under its new name. A local institution, inexpensive and excellent.

Southtown

Act V · Resort Area

Resort brunch.

When you don't want to leave the property, or you're staying out near La Cantera and the JW.

Whiskey Cake (La Cantera)

4.6★ · 5.9K

◉ WTGSA Approved

Best brunch near La Cantera. Scratch kitchen, craft cocktails, strong menu. Arrive early on weekends.

La Cantera

Haywire (La Cantera)

4.4★ · 1.1K

Big Texas brunch energy, country-inspired menu. Good for groups.

La Cantera

Cibolo Moon (JW Marriott)

The resort brunch for when you don't want to leave the property. Consistent and well-executed.

JW Marriott

Act VI · Sit outside

Best brunch patios.

Ranked the way I'd rank them for a visitor asking where to sit outside.

1

Pearl Farmers Market outdoor

Open-air market. The best morning in the city.

2

Cappy's covered patio

Alamo Heights. Shaded, elegant.

3

Southerleigh

Pearl. Industrial patio with river access.

4

Boudro's River Walk

Water views, festive energy.

5

Rosario's rooftop

Southtown. Highest energy of the bunch.

Act VII · Timing

Brunch tips.

The stuff nobody tells you until you're already standing in a line.

Pearl Farmers Market: arrive before 10am — vendors sell out.
Cappyccino's: go before 10am or after 12:30pm to skip the wait.
Downtown brunch: weekdays are significantly less crowded.
Resort brunches: generally more availability than Pearl or Alamo Heights.
Sunday Mariachi Mass at Mission San José at noon pairs perfectly with a morning brunch route.
