Only in San Antonio for the weekend?
Friday night through Sunday morning — one itinerary that covers the River Walk, Pearl, the Alamo, my meal picks, and the moves worth making on a tight schedule.
Act I · Arrive and eat
Friday night.
Land, drop your bags, and get one real meal and one real drink in before you crash.
Check in, drop bags
Dinner: Bohanan's or Domingo on the River Walk
Book Bohanan's at least 2 weeks ahead. Domingo is walkable from most downtown hotels.
Walk the River Walk
Commerce St bridge is the best photo spot. Walk south toward King William.
Drinks: Esquire Tavern or Downstairs at Esquire
The Esquire is the River Walk bar that locals actually use.
Call it, or keep going to Bar 414 at the Gunter Hotel

Act II · The full day
Saturday.
This is the day that has to work — the Alamo before the crowds, the river north to Pearl, and dinner where the city's actually good.
Morning
Breakfast: La Panadería or Alamo Biscuit
La Panadería for pan dulce and espresso. Alamo Biscuit for something heartier.
The Alamo — go before crowds build
Plan 45–60 min. Free admission. The Long Barrack museum is included.
River Walk loop — walk north toward Pearl
Museum Reach is the quieter, more scenic stretch of the river.
Pearl Farmers Market (if Saturday before 1pm)
Or lunch at Southerleigh or Supper at Hotel Emma.
Afternoon
Museum Reach walk or Tower of the Americas
Resort pool (if staying at JW / La Cantera / Hyatt)
Or Hopscotch / Briscoe Museum if it's hot and you want A/C.

Evening
Dinner: Pearl night
Supper at Hotel Emma, Southerleigh, or Boiler House — all walkable in the Pearl.
Sternewirth at Hotel Emma for drinks
One of the best bars in SA. The bar itself is worth the trip.
Jazz TX for live music
Friday or Saturday, the music program is usually strong.

Act III · Before you fly
Sunday morning.
One more real meal, one more real stop, then the airport.
Brunch: Pearl Farmers Market + Bottling Department
Or Cappy's in Alamo Heights for a sit-down brunch.
One more stop: Market Square / Mi Tierra
Or Mission San José — 30 min south, free, the most impressive of the five missions.
Head to SAT Airport
Pre-flight: Rudy's BBQ near the airport. Last SA meal, no regrets.
