The Friendly Spot Ice House
◉ WTGSA Approved
Best outdoor beer garden in SA.
Ten minutes from Frost Bank Center. Get there two hours before tip-off to beat the crowd.

Spurs game night · Frost Bank Center
People fly in from France, Japan, and across the country just to watch him live. Here's how I'd plan the trip around it.
Act I · Tickets
Buy early, especially if you're flying in for this — Wembanyama games sell out and prices only climb as the date closes in.
Official Spurs Tickets — spurs.com
Buy direct for guaranteed authentic tickets. The season schedule posts in September. Best selection is early in the season.
StubHub / SeatGeek
Best for last-minute tickets and comparing prices. Prices spike when the Spurs are winning — shop a few days out if you're flexible.
Spurs App
Download it for mobile tickets and Frost Bank Center navigation. Paperless entry only at most gates — have your phone charged before you arrive.
Ticket price guide
Upper level: $30–80. Lower level: $80–200+. Courtside: $500–2,000+. Prices vary a lot by opponent — Lakers, Celtics, and Warriors command a premium; midweek games against smaller markets are the best value.
Wembanyama note
These are among the most attended games in the NBA. Buy early. Prices climb as game day approaches — and if you're flying in from out of the country, book the tickets before you book the flights.

Act II · The Arena
The practical stuff — location, parking, gates, and the bag policy that trips people up.
Location
1 Frost Bank Center Dr, San Antonio TX 78219 — the arena everyone still calls the AT&T Center (it was renamed in 2023). Three miles east of downtown — not walkable from the River Walk, so plan your rideshare.
Parking
Large surface lots — $20–30 on game day. Pre-purchase at attcenter.com to save. Arrive 45+ minutes early for playoff or marquee games.
Rideshare pickup
Designated Uber/Lyft zone on the east side of the arena. Expect a 15–20 minute wait after big games — order before the final buzzer.
Gates open
1.5 hours before tip-off for the regular season, 2 hours for playoffs. Worth arriving early for good seats and to skip the entry lines.
Bag policy
Clear bag policy enforced. Max 12x6x12 inches; small clutch purses under 4.5x6.5 are allowed. No exceptions — plan accordingly.
Food inside
Full concessions throughout the arena, with local SA options — BBQ and Tex-Mex — at select stands.

Act III · Pre-Game
My move: dinner in Southtown, then a rideshare to the arena. Ten minutes each way, no downtown traffic to fight.

Willie's pre-game move
Dinner at Rosario's in Southtown at 5pm, drinks at The Friendly Spot, rideshare to Frost Bank Center by 7pm. Easy, local, no tourist-trap energy.
Act IV · Where to Stay
Where you sleep decides how far your rideshare goes on game night.
Downtown River Walk hotels
Best overall location — 15 minutes to Frost Bank Center by rideshare, and everything else is walkable: the Alamo, the Pearl, restaurants.
Southtown hotels / Airbnb
Closest neighborhood to Frost Bank Center energy — 10 minutes to the arena. Good for multi-game trips or staying in a real neighborhood.
Resort hotels — JW, La Cantera, Hyatt
Comfortable, but 25–35 minutes to Frost Bank Center. Fine for one game — plan the rideshare ahead and order it before the game ends.

Act V · Post-Game
If they won, it's Rosario's rooftop. If you want it calmer, Esquire or Bar 414 downtown.
◉ Local Favorite
Post-game outdoor energy.
If the weather's good, this is where the crowd goes after the final buzzer.

The Market Square institution.
The post-game meal if the group is hungry — open until 10 or 11 most nights, so order the rideshare at the final buzzer.
